It’s been a while since I’ve done a link-of-the-day, but this one made me think. (Specifically, “Are my UI designs getting this right?”): Thanks, Windows. If I had a cookie, I’d give it to you.
Ohhh the fun I’m having with my new ThinkPad T61p. Wireless connected…. but it’s not I can’t browse anything. How about I reboot…. swipe my fingerprint to make it login… to a blue screen of death. Reboot… try my other wireless gateway… connected. But… where’s the web?
Why won’t IBM buy me a Mac…..10% more productive on my salary would cover several…
What Aza Raskin neglected to also mention is that the Mac also does not “ding” a million times when you connect/disconnect a new device. I love my Macs so much, and they are really nice to use, but really, shouldn’t these things be on all Operating Systems?
As much as I love my Macs, I will admit that this sort of niceness/usability is not some miracle of engineering, it’s just Good Taste. There’s no reason why Windows/Linux can’t do this too.
