I’ll be spammed for Christmas?

Holy, mackerel! Not sure what’s changed, but suddenly, I’m getting about 50 spam comments per day here at NfGCW. Thank God for automated anti-spam tools, but sheesh what a waste of bandwidth! Isn’t it time for these guys to give up on comment spam? Does it ever actually get through on anyone’s blog any more?

  1. Hey, “Mike” (a.k.a. “a@a.com”). In the absense of a real email address, and with no obvious mapping to someone I know, anything you send to me is not going to get posted. (Your IP points into Rogers.)

Apologies if I’m wrong, but until I get some real verification of who you are, you’re just another spammer trying to get access to my comments area (despite making perfectly good responses <g>). Send me private email if you don’t want your email address logged on the site. I’ll hold onto your comments for a few days.
