  • I’ll be travelling next week.

I am going to a company meeting in Lexington next week. I fly out on Monday and get back on Thursday during the day. Those of you who know me, will know that I am already stressing over the travel.

Just to make things even more interesting, Thursday is the dress rehearsal for the next Divertimento concert. btw, if you are interested in going, here is a link to the concert information.

  • Blog update.

Well, I’m still on the trail of the definitive WP2.0 theme for this site. Nothing that’s absolutely jumped out at me yet, but there are certainly lots of interesting things being done. I noticed that there is now a WP2.0 specific theme competition in progress over at kcyap.com. Hopefully, they’ll come up with something cool.

  • The site’s appearance

As you’ve probably noticed, I can’t decide what I want this site to look like. You’ll just have to bear with me a bit longer. Hopefully on the weekend I’ll find some time for this.

  • Oh, Deblits!

Poor Deb. She hasn’t had a lot of fun on her first two skiing lessons. Her boots hurt enough that she was in agony after the first one, and when she got that fixed and went out today, she wiped and broke her thumb. 🙁

She’s enough of a trouper that she’ll try it again once the cast comes off, but given how warm this winter has been, a month from now the season could be over. I guess we’ll see how things turn out.

  • Weather!

Last Saturday it was pouring rain when I got up to go snowboarding. Today, again, we’re in the midst of a torrential downpour in the middle of January. I guess buying season’s passes this year wasn’t a good idea after all. I hope things settle down again by the weekend, but the long range forecast doesn’t currently look promising.

If you were looking for evidence of global warming, I think you’ve found it.

  • My birthday

Yesterday was my birthday. Thanks to all for coming over and helping me celebrate. I had lots of fun, and I hope y’all did too.

  • I still think WPG2 is a better answer.

It’s actually pretty easy to add a picture to the site with WP2.0, but I’d still rather have the Gallery2 plug-in working. In the mean time, here’s a blast from the past added using the built in support:

  • Snowboarding/Skiing lessons start today

Well, the family is kind of down with colds, and it’s pretty darn cold outside today, but this is the first lesson, so we’re going to do it anyway. Dennis and I have been doing snowboarding lessons for several years, so it’s old hat for us, but this will be Deb’s first lesson. She’s pretty stressed about it, I think.

    Wish us luck.

  • Conversion complete

Unfortunately, the old hacked style I was using didn’t make the grade. What I should do is actually design one of my own, but that will be a bit of a “learning experience” so it will have to wait. For now, this new style is quite pleasant — it just needs to integrate a picture of the castle.

The next step is to install the new-and-improved spam filter, and then re-connect Gallery2 (which may be interesting).

Update: As I suspected, WPG2 doesn’t seem to work with the WP2. I know that ozgreg it looking at it, so hopefully the 1.1 version of WPG2 will make everything right again. For now, you will see a few broken image links. Oh well.

  • Test install of WordPress 2

I did a test install of WordPress 2 at http://mikew.ca/wptest. It seems to be working (at least with no imports of old content, and using the default theme) so the next thing to try is upgrading this site. Probably tonight or tomorrow.
